Southern California Islet ConsortiumThe Southern California Islet Consortium (SC-IC) represents a collaboration among leading academic and transplant centers in the Southern California area working together to advance islet cell transplantation as a treatment for type 1 diabetes. 

The mission of the SC-IC is to address the challenges currently facing islet transplantation and catalyze advancements in the field by sharing the vast and unique resources and expertise available in Southern California.

This website provides up-to-date information to SC-IC investigators and the community on SC-IC  research and activities.

The SC-IC is based at the Leslie and Susan Gonda (Goldschmied) Diabetes and Genetics Research Center at City of Hope.  Other partner institutions include:

  • Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
  • Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
  • Loma Linda University Medical Center
  • The Whittier Institute for Diabetes/Scripps Green Center for Organ and Cell Transplantation
