John Termini received his B.A. from Columbia College in New York City; then the M.S., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from the department of Chemistry at Columbia University. His graduate training was in natural products chemistry and biochemistry under the tutelage of Prof. Koji Nakanishi; followed by postdoctoral training at Caltech in nucleic acids chemistry in the laboratory of Professor Peter B. Dervan, where he was a Fellow of the American Cancer Society.
