 Biography

Dr. Radany is nationally recognized as an expert clinician and laboratory scientist. His clinical expertise includes pediatric cancers, brain cancers, stereotactic radiosurgery, conformal radiotherapy, IMRT, and TomoTherapy. His interests are in radiation biology, particularly the use of systemic agents to sensitize the effects of radiation against cancer.

Dr. Radany joined the City of Hope Faculty in 2004. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester, Master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Rochester, and M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University. This was followed by fellowship training in the lab of Dr. Michael Bishop at the University of California, San Francisco and residency specialty training in anatomic pathology at the National Cancer Institute and radiation oncology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

He has been recognized for his efforts and honored as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, MSTP fellowship grant programs, NATO/EMBO travel awards, RSNA research fellowship award, ASTRO research fellowship award, ASCO young investigator award, and NCI clinical investigator awards. He is an invited expert in committees related to radiation biology through the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO). He serves as a reviewer or associate editor on a number of respected scientific journals. Dr. Radany has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has delivered dozens of abstracts and presentations.
