Five-time Grammy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated singer-songwriter, actress and record producer Janet Jackson poses with patient Maria Montejano at City of Hope while patient Kristen Tuason takes a photo.

Jackson joined Universal Music Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Doug Morris and other Music and Entertainment Industry (MEI) leaders for Morris’ honoree tour of campus on May 7. After the tour, Jackson sang “Happy Birthday” to a pediatric patient and visited with fans. The tour for Morris, the MEI’s 2008 Spirit of Life® Award honoree, kicked off the group’s yearlong fundraising program, which will include benefit concerts and several other special events — culminating in a gala dinner on Oct. 15 in Santa Monica, Calif. The MEI’s 2008 fundraising goal is $5 million.
