Nutrition and cancer: what to eat to reduce cancer risk |

Thousands of people with cancer search for a marrow donor every day. The need for ethnically and racially diverse donors is particularly high.
City of Hope is helping; maybe you can, too. |
| Q&A: Is it all in your head? |
|
 |
| We've all had that half-serious, fleeting thought: "Is my headache telling me I have a brain tumor?" Odds are it isn't, of course, according to a City of Hope neuro-oncologist who demystifies the disease. |
| Despite strong evidence that a healthy lifestyle can help cancer survivors live longer and avoid a recurrence, survivors don't opt for healthy choices any more than the average person. According to a recent study in the scientific journal Cancer, fewer than 25 percent of cancer survivors exercise regularly, and nearly one in five are obese. The news is unfortunate, since eating healthy and exercising not only benefit cancer survivors, researchers say; they can reduce risk of the disease in the first place. |
