Vice President, Patient Access Services
Judy Chatigny, R.N., M.S.N., defines the vision and strategic direction for patient access services and collaborates with faculty, staff and department administrators on strategies to implement these services.
Chatigny leads efforts to improve the patient experience at City of Hope, support growth in new patient volume, ensure effective patient flow and streamline processing of accepted patients.
As vice president of patient access services, Chatigny will ensure efficient and cost-effective care. A member of the executive team, she assesses and standardizes programs and services related to patient care institutionwide. She also ensures that services are integrated effectively within the medical center and meet patient, physician and staff quality standards and financial goals.
Overseeing patient registration and admitting, Chatigny is a lead contributor in the design, creation and validation of City of Hope Information System (CIS) initiatives that will improve these areas, as well as new patient scheduling. She also works closely with department administrators, faculty and leaders of City of Hope’s clinical departments to assess and initiate programs and service priorities and ensure that that they are integrated effectively within the medical center and meet or exceed quality standards.
Prior to joining City of Hope, Chatigny held positions of increasing responsibility at Redlands Community Hospital and, most recently, Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she was executive director of its cancer institute for seven years. In this position, she oversaw the institute’s administrative, fiscal and clinical operations, and directed support services, clinical research, cancer data center, regional registry, program marketing and business development, community outreach, fundraising, and financial and strategic planning.
Chatigny currently serves on the executive board of the American Cancer Society, and she is a member of the Association of Cancer Executives, Association of Community Cancer Centers and Oncology Nursing Society. She also is a certified inpatient obstetric nurse.
Chatigny received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix in Ontario, Calif., and her Master of Science degree in nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
