General Counsel and Secretary
As general counsel, Gregory Schetina is chief lawyer for City of Hope and its affiliated entities, including the medical center, Beckman Research Institute and the medical foundation. He oversees the Legal Department and has overall responsibility for all legal issues relating to health care, regulatory compliance, labor and employment, patent and trademark portfolio management, and litigation. He also manages City of Hope's insurance program.
Schetina also serves as corporate secretary. He advises the boards and oversees the office of the board of directors.
Formerly a partner with the law firms of Jones Day and Tuttle & Taylor, Schetina received his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Schetina also served as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
